On to a new assignment at Hogeschool Rotterdam.

The scope in which you work on an assignment may change during its development. Examples include additional or changing stakeholders, changing legislation that affects the process and end result, or there might be other reasons why the scope changes. Project manager Glenn noticed this during his assignment at Hogeschool Rotterdam – the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences  

Advisory report following the Connexys implementation

The original assignment at this client was to write an advisory report following the implementation of Connexys, within the agreed project time of 7 weeks. There were some operational challenges based on this implementation, for which we can provide a customized solution. It soon became apparent that these needs had already been identified, which led to refocusing the scope and rewriting the assignment.  

The renewed assignment led to an advisory report on the optimal functioning of the Recruitment & Selection team, specifically focused on policy, people, and process. The goal was to make a proactive proposal for an ideal set-up with a place for people and process and within the existing frameworks. 

 “In this process, I really enjoyed working on this assignment independently while building good and valuable relationships within Hogeschool Rotterdam. That was great to write a tailor-made proposal, but also to be able to work on assignment number 2 here,” Glenn said.  

Full project support in the implementation of transport policy

Sometimes the successful execution of an assignment leads to a new request from the same client. This is also the case with Hogeschool Rotterdam, where Glenn will be responsible for the full project management during the implementation of the new transport policy. This sustainable transport policy has been developed and should lead to behavioral change regarding car use in that city. A reduction of the carbon footprint, relieving the traffic pressure in Rotterdam, also because of the restrictions present and major infrastructure projects such as the A16, and furthermore the relevant terms of employment have been updated and brought in line with other colleges. This policy is being implemented following a separate report and request from the Municipality of Rotterdam. Something that the university, and therefore we too, are happy to cooperate in.  

Glenn: “With this new assignment, I am most looking forward to working with all levels of the organization. From the Executive Board to the various project and sounding board groups within Hogeschool Rotterdam. To the merging of these wishes and expectations and the creation of a strong and concrete plan, which I can completely fill in myself from policy to final implementation. Plenty of lessons to draw from, in other words!”
